Research
The RFID Lab has multiple teams focused on the research, development, and application of sensor technologies. Whether exploring the next generation of checkout, or innovation in product packaging, our teams collaborate with end-users, solution providers, and other stakeholders, to drive innovation.
Student Teams
Students are critical to the lab, conducting research and supporting projects. The Lab's students come from a variety of different colleges and majors, and gain invaluable experience collaborating with end-users, technology providers, and other industry stakeholders. The ARC team conducts benchmark testing to uphold performance and quality of RFID inlays, and develop and maintain RFID specs.
The ALEC team supports product suppliers through their RFID tagging journey, and validates the RFID solutions for their products to ensure they meet their end-user's requirements. The ALEC team also conducts feasibility assessments to determine RFID readiness for end users.
The field team focuses on data collection from the field, from manufacturers to retail stores. Data collected includes RFID solution accuracy, supplier compliance, and more.
The data team supports end users and internal Lab teams through processing data and generating reports. Examples of reports include RFID solution accuracy, adoption and saturation rates, and more.
The research and development team is future focused, exploring the applications of technologies such as augmented and virtual reality, AI and machine learning, computer vision, RFID tag localization, and more.
The product development team supports end users and internal lab teams through developing the tools that are critical to collecting and evaluating data.
The Buzz team is focused on getting the word out, and making it look good. From social media to Lab events, the Buzz team is responsible for designing, capturing, and posting all communications.
The Lab Ops team focuses on supporting all operations of the lab, from reconfiguring Lab demos to hosting guests and tours.
