Celebrating 20+ Years
The RFID Lab was founded in 2005 at the University of Arkansas, and since its inception, has been focused on the business case and technical implementation of RFID and other emerging technologies in retail, aviation, aerospace, QSR, manufacturing, and more. In 2014, the RFID Lab moved to Auburn University and has since grown to a staff of 100+ students and faculty.

From student tours to executive groups, the RFID Lab plays a key role in educating on the business and technical implementations of RFID and other technologies while also providing a platform for industry-wide collaboration. Student Teams

Students are critical to the lab, conducting research and supporting projects. The Lab's students come from a variety of different colleges and majors, and gain invaluable experience collaborating with end-users, technology providers, and other industry stakeholders. The ARC team conducts benchmark testing to uphold performance and quality of RFID inlays, and develop and maintain RFID specs.

The ALEC team supports product suppliers through their RFID tagging journey, and validates the RFID solutions for their products to ensure they meet their end-user's requirements. The ALEC team also conducts feasibility assessments to determine RFID readiness for end users.
